Sick February 2014

feb-2014

I sincerely don’t know how I should start this post but I will first apologize for not posting any new article for more than 2 weeks.

For the past 30 minutes, I have been struggling to write this post, starting over again and again while trying to think how to share that feeling I have right now. That feeling of how badly Mauritius has been doing not only during this month but since the first days of the year itself.

Our society

Nowadays, accidents, murder, rape and robbery should have their own reserved pages in the local press instead of categorizing them under “Faits divers”. In the fear of hearing or reading how atrociously someone killed his life companion, I am sure that many Mauritians sometimes prefer to keep that radio switched off in a corner or stay away from the news headline of the local newspapers. I simply can’t understand what went wrong in those families. Has it become so easy to strangle someone and simply cut her into pieces before throwing them away somewhere?

Anyway, let’s move on to something else now.

The government and authorities

The government and authorities have been lamely and mutually accusing themselves in the “Pas moi sa, li sa” game. Just to quote a few : The cracks on the recently constructed Ring Road, the illegal universities and educational institutions operating without official recognition from Mauritian or from their country’s of origin, student doctors practicing in a public hospital without being registered by the medical council and very recently, the video released by Radio Plus incriminating the husband of a minister of the current government.

Balatkar!

To add a dose of humor to this sick month of February, our Prime Minister took great pleasure to express himself for the celebration of Maha Shivratree at Grand Bassin. You might still remember the actor who delivered the “balatkar” speech (watch the video) in the widely rewarded Bollywood movie, “3 Idiots”. It is a shame to say that we have even someone even better here in Mauritius.

Here’s the video by ION News:

Ending my post here while hoping that next month will be more peaceful and prosperous for everyone in our motherland.

Take care!

    Come on…
    Sick everything:

Politically: everything is rotten, you name it: Paulo, Navin, etc
Economically: everything is rotting, you name it: Xavier, Rama, etc
Socially: everything is rotting, you name it – too many
Technology: everything is rotting, you name it: someone said “Rapeland”?
Environmentally: everything is rotten, you name it: Blue Bay is one example.

Legally: everything is rotting, you name it: no money, no justice – it’s not about what really happened, but about what can be proven.

Oh shit, I just revised the PESTEL external business environment scanning for you.

So, yes, no wonder so many of your relatives and close ones are migrating.
