The “ComitΓ© des Certifications de la STC” has announced the price of petroleum products, applicable for the month of July 2010 :

Finally a decrease! But for how long? lol
Some changes, blogged on a previous post :
- Mr Somarooa is not in the Committee anymore,
- His contract as the head of the STC will be renewed on a monthly basis
- Mauritius has signed another 3yr contract with the same supplier, Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd.

Tricky question since all of us know that next month, the price will most probably rise, again.
So, I will answer : Yes, for the time being.

Mangalore is in for 3 more years. I still don’t see the decrease announced when they first signed the contract. Its just a ‘yoyo’ trend.

I don’t think they got another supplier who agreed to supply Mauritius. Impact magazine has an article telling about the difficulties we got since the demand for Mauritius is too low and many have refused to sell to us because of that. At least, they didn’t do a quick uncalculated hedging. Mangalore was never the problem according to me.

@bhoot : Yeah, the problem is not with the supplier, but rather with the hedging and other issues related to STC
