Yashvin, why did you go for the 18-105mm when you already had your Tamron and your Nikon 18-55mm covering the range ?
Btw how much did this new baby cost ? 😉

Hi Pascal.
I decided to get the 18-105 for several reasons.
The 70-300 of Tamron is not 100% efficient in low light conditions. Takes time to focus, and sometimes, very difficult.
Also, it is not practical to change lenses if I need anything beyond my 55mm length capability.
Finally, a 18-105mm covers a better range, is fast in focusing (compared to my tamron).

Just recently bought a prime 50mm for my nikon.
It’s true that lense are really expensive in mauritius, but when you add the shipping, handling and insurance for ebay plus tax, it can really come to as close as the price in MRU.
Better find some people to bring one for you.
Any way, I found my 18 – 105mm to be such a general purpose.
If your 18 – 55mm is still for selling, I may suggest putting a note on the notice board of Era or look for people that want to buy a DSLR and propose them to buy only the body and take the lense with you.
